Parish Pastoral Council
The Parish Pastoral Council gathered for its first meeting on Saturday, October 18, 2008. The meeting began with the RENEW/ARISE prayer. This was followed by a reflection on I Thessalonians 1, “ I give thanks to God always for all of you….” Council members reflected on St. Paul’s writing to the Church with personal connection to the themes of thanksgiving, unceasing prayer, works of faith and love, endurance in hope, being chosen and being empowered by the Holy Spirit. The council then overviewed our parish RENEW/ARISE small groups, including the over 100 parishioners this fall. Brother Sal Cordaro and Brother Ernie Bedard were welcomed by the council, and they shared their calling to work in the St. Mark Parish community in the upcoming year with young adults and youth. The remainder of the meeting focused upon formation of the parish council members and leadership development in the parish. Fr. Finn gave an update on the progress of parish collaboration in the Vicariate and the development of Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy. The council concluded with the RENEW/ARISE prayer. The next council meeting will be Saturday, November 22, at 5:00 pm in the Rectory.
