Parishioners are addressing concerns about the economy. Parish-community members volunteered to research and distribute information about resources (financial assistance, food pantries, legal services, foreclosure aid, education services, etc.). Parishioners are also interested in a parish job network and encourage those who know about available jobs to notify the parish for job postings.

St. Mary was given the name 'Magdalen' because, though a Jewish girl, she lived in a Gentile town called Magdale, in northern Galilee, and her culture and manners were those of a Gentile. St. Luke records that she was a notorious sinner, and had seven devils removed from her.
