This Friday, August 7, 2009, will be the First Friday of the month. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will begin in the chapel immediately following the 7 AM Mass and continue until 12:00 Noon.
Saturdays in July and August, from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., we will have Family Fun Days with food from the grill, games, and activities: July 25, August 15, and August 29.
Thank you to everyone who made the Wainwright Park Family Fun Day a great success Saturday, July 11th. Over 150 people attended, with a lot of activity: food from the grill, a DJ, an ice cream truck from Maureen Feeney, activities with the Sheriff's department, cotton candy from BOLDTeens, face painting, and recreation.
Work hard and save your money so when you’re old you will be able to buy the things only the young can enjoy.

"Jesus loved Martha and Mary and Lazarus." This unique statement in John's gospel tells us of the special relationship Jesus had with Martha, her sister, and her brother. Apparently Jesus was a frequent guest at Martha's home in Bethany, a small village two miles from Jerusalem. We read of three visits in Luke 10:38-42, John 11:1-53, and John 12:1-9.

This week marks the beginning of a kind of “liturgical detour.” We have been listening to Saint Mark’s Gospel during this liturgical year (Year B). Today we begin to hear a long section from John’s Gospel, starting with the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes.
